Cambridge Law now takes the LNAT. Your Class XII alone won't do.

Start with the correction, because outdated advice is everywhere: Cambridge requires the LNAT for 2027 entry. Its own Law pages say so the LNAT replaces the previous written assessment as the pre-interview test, both sections are used, and the essay is marked centrally at Cambridge, exactly as Oxford marks it. At least one coaching article published within the last few months still tells students Cambridge uses its own exercise and that LSE needs no LNAT; both claims are false, and acting on them costs you the application. Register between 1 August and 15 September 2026, sit between 1 September and 15 October. The degree is the BA in Law the Law Tripos, UCAS M100 not an LLB, though like Oxford's BA it is a qualifying route in England and Wales. Three parts: Part IA's core of Criminal, Constitutional and Tort with a Roman law introduction; Part IB's five papers from a wide range including Contract and International Law; Part II's specialisation with options such as Commercial Law and Intellectual Property, plus a dissertation route. A fourth year abroad is possible, including at a Singapore partner. You apply to a college, not the university, and colleges interview shortlisted candidates in December. For an Indian applicant the gate is not the LNAT it is the qualification itself. Cambridge's international entry page states that the Higher Secondary Certificate (Class XI and XII) alone will not be competitive and applicants holding it alone are unlikely to succeed. Suitable preparation, in Cambridge's own examples: five or more Advanced Placement tests at score 5 alongside A1 grades in relevant Class XII subjects, or the first year of an undergraduate degree, or A-levels or the IB. Oxford accepts CBSE and ISC directly; Cambridge, in practice, does not. If you hold Class XII alone, Oxford is the Oxbridge application and you cannot apply to both in the same year anyway.
